The relationship between ginger candy & nausea isn’t a new one; in fact it can be documented from thousands of years in Eastern medicines.
Ginger candy is viewed as the ultimate alternative from over the counter drugs, or prescription drugs for anti-nausea. Mostly because the lack of side effects candy provides opposed to the drowsiness, etc. that comes from anti-nausea drugs.
Additionally the candy can be taken/eaten by anyone, the drugs not so much. Pregnant women are very limited in what they can, and cannot use when it comes to drugs for nausea.
According to the University of Michigan Health System, studies suggests that an antioxidant contained in ginger, called “gingerol” may act to reduce the damage that free radicals can cause throughout your body.
The properties of Gingerol work to remove products that result from oxidative processes in the digestive tract which are a common cause of nausea. Ginger also helps to block receptors in your stomach from binding serotonin, which can result in increased nausea if left to bind as it want, which is a no-no.
Ginger has been effective and consistent for thousands of years, I doubt things change from here on out.
