8 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD WAIT UNTIL YOUR BABY IS 6 MONTHS OLD TO FEED THEM SOLIDS

Doctors say to wait until your baby is 6 months to start feeding your baby solids and until then your baby should only be breastfed. If your baby is formula fed, doctors say you should still delay feeding your baby solids until they are 6-8 months of age. Why delay feeding your baby solids?

  1.   Your baby’s immune system will be stronger
  2.   Your baby’s digestive system will have time to develop
  3.   Your baby will have a low risk of obesity in the future
  4.   Starting solids will be an easier transition for your baby
  5.   Your baby will be more immune to iron deficiency anemia
  6.   Mom will be able to conserve her milk supply
  7.   Mom is not likely to become pregnant

8.   Mom will lose baby weight easily

I’ve seen the negatives from starting your baby on solids too early, and it is not pretty! So with that being said i’m sure this is of great use of mothers who really aren’t aware of the dangers of early solid feeding.

My mother and I could not come to an agreement on when to start my baby on solids. Being a single mother with only the support of mother, this article was very useful. I truly thank you for your continuous efforts to keep us new mothers informative.
