7 Delicious breakfast ideas for toddlers

Miniature PB&J Waffle Sandwiches:
Using just two whole-grain mini toaster waffles, some peanut butter and jelly you can very easily create a toddler breakfast favorite. The mini waffles are a perfect size for your toddler to pick up by themselves and eat to start their day off right.
Cinnamon Toast + Yogurt + Fruit:
Cinnamon Toast was one of the staples in my childhood and I’m very excited to pass it on to the next generation. Just toast some whole-grain bread, spread it with butter, and sprinkle on a little bit of cinnamon and sugar. Serve with a serving of yogurt and some fruit to make it a balanced breakfast.

Granola Bar + Fruit + Milk:

A packaged granola bar can be incredibly convenient and also healthy when paired with fruit, milk, or yogurt. This meal is super easy for those busy mornings where you don’t have time to cook. Don’t let time stop you from feeding your child healthily by learning quick meals like this for on the go.
Apple Slices with Almond Butter, String Cheese, and Milk:
This is another very easy breakfast that gives your toddler a nutritional meal with variety. While almond butter and peanut butter are very similar, almond butter has been shown to have more vitamins, fiber and less saturated fat.
Oatmeal with a twist:
Plain oatmeal can be boring for your child, but with a little twist you can make the whole process exciting for your child. Prior to breakfast, purchase several different fixins such as rainbow sprinkles, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, brown sugar, honey, chopped fruit, or raisins. Microwave the oatmeal and then let your child decide what they want inside their oatmeal. Suddenly oatmeal isn’t so boring anymore.

Breakfast Quesadillas:
Quesadillas are always a hit back home with my kids, so why only make them at lunch or dinner! For the morning meal, we fill them with cheese and scrambled eggs (bonus if you add some chopped veggies!), or go the sweeter route with peanut butter and banana with a touch of honey.
Banana Bites:
This recipe is one of my favorites for when I have some extra time in the morning.

Ingredients: 2 Bananas, 1 cup pancake batter
Directions: Cut the bananas diagonally into 1/4 inch slices
One at a time, dip the banana slices into the batter, coating all over, shaking off the excess batter into the bowl and place on a buttered griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook for 1 minute on each side or until golden. Serve with desired accompaniments*.
*Do not serve with honey for children under 12 months for allergy reasons.
